Ultra short term mutual funds are those mutual funds which invest in fixed income earning instruments which have maturities up to six months.
Ultra Short-term mutual funds are kind of liquid funds. These kinds of funds have more liquidity and the investment horizon is also short. Liquid funds have maturity period of 91 days but ultra short term mutual funds do not have that kind of rule on it.
These kinds of funds can be matured before or after 91 days period. The maturity for ultra short term funds is from a week to 18 months.
